One-Year Leave Replacement Position in Chinese Language (Williamstown, MA)

WILLIAMS COLLEGE, Williamstown MA 01267. Applications are invited for a one-year leave replacement position in Chinese language for Spring 2023 and Fall 2023. The appointment begins in February 2023. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications, appointment will be made at the level of either visiting lecturer or visiting assistant professor. Teaching load will consist of two courses in Spring 2023 (February through May 2023) and two courses in Fall 2023 (September through December 2023). This is a full-time appointment. Salary is competitive and comes with full benefits.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include M.A. in Chinese language pedagogy, linguistics, literature or a related field (Ph.D. or ABD preferable). Candidates should have native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin, strong teaching experience at the college level, and ability to teach all levels of language courses either independently or collaboratively. Experience in team-teaching and teacher training preferred.
