Lecturer of Chinese (Binghamton, NY)
The Department of Asian and Asian American Studies at Binghamton University (SUNY) invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Chinese. This appointment is full-time and renewable, expected to begin in the Fall semester of 2022. The position requires a regular teaching load of three courses per semester. Applicants should hold an M.A. or Ph.D. in language pedagogy, second language acquisition, linguistics, or related fields. We seek candidates who have teaching experience in higher education at North American institutions and who possess native or near-native fluency in both Chinese and English. The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching Chinese language courses collaboratively and independently at all levels (from introductory through advanced). Candidates who are experienced with technologies in language teaching, online teaching, teaching a diverse study body, and teaching cultural and/or Chinese translation courses are desirable.
