Required Degree: Ph.D. in Chinese language, linguistics, or related field. Required degree must be in hand by the start date.
Experience: Teaching experience at the college level, preferably at the advanced level. Teaching with computer-aided instruction and online resources. Will take a leadership role in working with advanced directed courses for Flagship students, independent study courses, and Chinese for special purposes. Native speaker with advanced language skills, teaching Chinese, reading, writing, speaking and translating.
Duties/Expectations: This position has a key role in the Chinese Flagship Program. The person will teach language courses in the Chinese Flagship Program and will be involved in departmental development training of new Flagship faculty. Will hire, supervise, and train Flagship graduate assistants and tutors. Will be involved in interviewing and selecting students for program participation. Will provide feedback on student progress and the language proficiency of each participant.
