Position Summary and Responsibilities

Vassar College invites applications for Chinese Language Fellow for the 2023-24 academic year (late August, 2023 through May, 2024).

The Language Fellow, who must be a native level speaker of Chinese, has the opportunity to work closely with experienced language instructors and to gain experience in teaching non-native speakers by conducting conversation classes and drill sessions that supplement language courses. The fellow assists the Chinese faculty members in preparing teaching materials.

Language Fellows receive free room and board on Vassar’s campus for the academic year, a monthly stipend of $700 for 10 months, and international health insurance coverage. They take one Vassar course per semester

Qualifications

Language Fellows should at least have a B.A. and be fluent in English.
